Best Ethical Practice in Anatomy (BEPA)

Chair: Dr. R. Shane Tubbs

Preamble

The Universal Anatomical Organization (UAO), recognizing the need for a globally unified yet locally adaptable ethical framework in the anatomical sciences, hereby establishes the Best Ethical Practice in Anatomy (BEPA) work force. This international body shall serve as a guiding entity for institutions, professionals, and educators engaged in the acquisition, handling, use, and dissemination of human anatomical materials. BEPA will develop and promote ethical practices that respect human dignity, adhere to legal norms, and elevate standards of scientific and medical integrity in anatomical education, research, and public engagement.

Mission Statement

BEPA is committed to setting and promoting the highest standards of ethical practice in anatomy through education, policy development, advocacy, and international collaboration. Its goal is to foster a global culture of respect and accountability in all activities involving human anatomical material.
